Take care of your spine ..IMPORTANT !!!
I was so unfortunate to slipped my disc on my back.... It started a week ago..and later when the pain get worst I went to see a GP who just diagnised as a muscle spams...but as the pain get from bad to worst..i decided to pay a chiropractic a visit...and my worst nightmare was confirmed as slipped disc....Well its not so bad either...it sounds bad but not as bad as it sounds..no lfting of heavy stuff , cant bend down foward, no turning sidewards ( no golf....what the hack ??? I dont play..i just cant imagine myself hitting a small ball into a small hole in a big field in the middle of the sun )...no pools ( :( )........
So got a lecture from the chiro, what caused slipped disc, what i should and shouldn't do etc.....but one question was in my mind... err.." Dr Green , I was planning to backpack to Europe next month..errr...can I make it ???" ..." Ofcoz....walking is god for your back...but let pain be your guide".....Yes..Yes..It immediately makes my day....at least I still can go for my trip...
Well let me share some points on yr back care :-
1) NOT SIT - it puts 2 - 11 times more pressure on your disc of your lower back. More pressure equals more damage. Never sit more than 15 minutes at any one time....
2) DO NOT TWIST - Lets twist again is not cool....... your disc can only twist 5 degrees. Making your back crunch might feel good..but think again....
So now I have to put on a brace to keep my back straight...as well as take 2 cups of calcium drink everyday...I seriously lack of it as i am not a milk lover...but now I add 2 cups of yoghurts into my daily diet....
My brace n my drink..expensive See the magic word ??? Hi-CALCIUM....
Well I shall be okay in 2 years..if everything si right..need to take xtra care..For all my friends who called up and asked bout my back..Its ok mate..I'll be ok..Thanks Mike for your sms....I'll be okay.
