Lim Kee Fishball Noodle, Medan Putra , Kepong

I am not really a fishball noodle junkie until I've been introduced to this fish ball speciality shop by a friend of mine. What really makes me hook to this particular eatery is the soup. The soup is remarkably sweet and tasty, minus the lard oil and MSG. You can really taste the freshness in the soup stock ,coupled with some dried salted chinese mustard ( tung-choy) its heaven. In chinese noodle, the most important is the soup base..and it really determines whether the noodle makes it or beats it .

This eatery steadfastly refuses to use commercial fishballs. Instead he makes his own and you can taste the difference almost the instant you bite into the balls. The sweet flavour of sai-to fish is so deliciously satisfying, something you'd never find in over-the-counter fishballs. The fishballs aren't perfectly round in shape either as these are shaped by hand, not machine.

The standard bowl ( RM 3.80 /M 4,30 Large ) comes with 2 delicious saito fishball, few slices of fish cakes and a stuffed Tofu-pok.Beside that there is also an array of stuffed Yong Tau Fu ( 80 cents a piece ) available for the extras. For me,nothing beats the good school old fish ball noodles, minus all the fuss.

Tasty ???? Just look at my bowl...need I say more ?????

They also serves a mean curry laksa.

location : Jalan Medan Putra 3, Medan Putra, Taman Bukit Maluri, Kepong, KL

Directions : From Kepong/Sg Buloh .If you are using LDP towards One-Utama direction, look out for the first left junction before the toll. After turning left you would come to a round about ( where Desa Park City ) take a 12 o clock turn. Then at the first 2nd junction turn left. then look out for Khalifah mamak turn left then at 2nd junction turn right. The restaurant is on your left.

Wrong email......

A man checked into a hotel. There was a computer in his room, So he
decided to send an e-mail to his wife. However, he accidentally typed
a wrong e-mail address, and without realizing his error, he sent the
e-mail.

Meanwhile... ..somewhere else, a widow had just returned home from
her husband's funeral. The widow decided to check her e-mail,
expecting messages from relatives and friends. After reading the
first message, she fainted. The widow's son rushed into the room,
found his mother on the floor, and saw the computer screen which read
like this:

.To: My Loving Wife
Subject: I've Reached
Date: 31 May 2004

Darling,
I know you're surprised to hear from me. They have computers here
now, and you are allowed to send e-mails to your loved ones. I've
just reached and have been checked in. I see that everything has been
prepared for your arrival tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you
then!

Hope your journey will be as uneventful as mine was.

BB....i luv u

BB, reached home to an empty bed and looking into your picture really brings back the sweet memories you brought to me over the week. It makes me realize how much you really mean to me and how much I really miss you now. I miss your smell. I miss you fighting with me over my bolster. I miss the coffee you make for me in the morning. I miss your rantings to me to brush my teeth and takes my bath before bed time. BB my life wouldn't be complete without you.

Thanks for the sweet memories and keeping my room clean. BB I am really touched when I came home from work the other day to find my room so spotless clean, bed maked up everyday, my floor being moped. So how am I going to live without you then ? Whats life to me again without you. You really shows me the meaning of life again. You are simply a gift from god to me.You injected happiness and warmth into my life again. The feeling is so warm and strong when I saw you walking hand in hand with my niece that day, how she sticks to you and how happy hr face is when she sees you.

BB also thanks for taking care of my brother when he's unwell. Also sorry that we miss out on our paktor session and you never even rant a single disapproval when we have to cancel our plans to be with my brother.

Going to a Golden anniversary dinner tonight and I really hope that you could be with me tonight, but I cant be so possessive as you already been away from your home for the past week.

Cant really waiting till the time when you move up here to KL and complete the final piece of my life jigsaw.

B......I miss you. B I love u. B remember our IKEA promise ????

I've got period !!!!

Does the title makes you stopped at wat you are doing and makes you wondering why am I having me period ?????? Haha....with blood oozing out of my back and using tissue to rub it off when it changes itself into semi solid form, I cant find any better words to describe the situation.

Well..... what I did ??? Haha cupping, my first actually...courtesy of my gf.

Cupping is a a three thousand year old therapy that is still leaving its mark in the medical world today. So what can you expect when you go for a cupping session? In this day and age, glass cups are used. Three thousand years ago, bamboo, animal horn or brass - if you could afford it - were the order of the day. In fact, the old Chinese name for cupping was 'horning'. he newest innovation in cupping does away with the dangerous flame and uses a pump action instead. This is also a much more accurate way of gauging the degree of suction and, of course, eliminates the risk of burning.

Doctors of traditional Chinese medicine and practitioners of Japanese shiatsu therapy, place the cups at various positions along the meridian lines. These are the same lines used in acupuncture. There are five meridians on the back and these are usually targeted, particularly the bladder meridian. By cupping these meridian lines, specific organs in the body can be targeted.

Cupping is generally used by practitioners if there is cold energy in the patient's meridians. The warm air from the cupping stimulates the skin, and the suction coaxes blood to the area which promotes localised healing. The chi is warmed and starts to flow freely down the meridians.

Then the skin is poked to release the toxins from the blood and then suction pressure is applied again to suck out the toxins from the body. With bloods flowing, its not a sight for the faint hearted.

Top : Close up of the sucked parts. Middle : Being poked by my dear to release the toxins Bottom : The results of 30 years of torture to my body system.

Top : Bloody tissues. Doesnt it looks like period ?? Below : The aftermath...looks worst than being beaten !!!

Follow up on sigh....

To my friends who send their regards on my family matters..I am really touched by your kindness. Thanks Kenny,Mike,Princess and so on.

Actually my brother was admitted into hospital due to suspected dengue, which later was diagnosed as suspected viral infection. That worries me. At least if dengue, is such a common nowadays , we can be sure of the treatment for him. But after few blood count test..thanks god its down to dengue fever.

Been a very tough few days for me, as I have to juggle between my work, family and my BB. BB, I am really sorry for what happen..as we plan to have a happy week with many plans for you, but u ended up accompanying me to hospital, my brothers place and doing little things. But what to do ????

Anyway my brother is on the right track to recovery and is expected to be out in a few more days...so see u guys !!!! I'll be back.

Souled Out - Sri Hartamas

Its been quite some time since I stepped into this wonderful restaurant. Actually I've been visiting Souled Out since its early days back in 1996/7. talk bout food then. its the place to be seen in Mt Kiara. It was like our port then, mention about Happy Hour its Souled Out, mention about pasta its Souled out..mention about birthdays parties its Souled Out again. its like we have sold our soul to Souled Out back then. By the way , mentioning about celebrating your birthday at Souled Out...you would have a time of your life ..with the staff singing for you in groups and makes you the stars of the nights by making you stand on the chair when they sing..not for the shy and faint hearted though.

Food was fast and they really live up to their name by serving under 10 minutes !!! As we are sitting directly under the air-cond, the food really turns cold fast.

Tasty Spaghetti Carbonara (RM18) withs lots of beef bacon. Hmmmm Yummy. But due to the strong aircond it cools fast and makes it to soggy. Below : Cheese Nachos ( RM16) Really nice, so far one of the best I've tasted in KL after Hard Rock Cafe's nachos.

Mushroom galore with Mushroom all The way ( RM 22 for 8" ) from their Pizza selection. Simply prepared with mushroom, tomato puree and cheese, for an uncomplicated taste. Porterhouse Steak ( RM 36 ). The steak comes thick, just the way I like it. Not too bad, but the beef is just too tough even though we requested Medium rare. Should have ordered Medium, as its too rare and the tough veins and fibres are tough to chew on , as its not broken down yet due to the cooking time.

Overall its a good experience making this trip back to Souled Out and we left with a happy feeling satisfied with the food and reasonably priced too.

Souled Restaurant
20, Jalan 30/70R, Desa Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur

Damage : Expects to pay rm30-40/pax including drinks.

Izzi @ Damansara Uptown

This new kid on the block of KL chic dining place has been around for about a year in KL, and has been a great success with their second branch opening in Damansara Uptown on the 3rd September.

This chic casual dining restaurant chain , made their name in the Indonesian market since its opening in 2002 and Malaysia is their first foreign market outside Indonesia, with their flagship restaurant located in Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. In Indonesia itself, Izzi has 14 restaurants, and is still counting.

The Damansara Uptown branch occupies 2 lots . One half with an open kitchen concept, great for looking at what they are cooking up ( also in order for them to maintain their highest level of hygine ) and free smeels, but it can be a little tad warm here. For a cooler environment, its better to sit next door wheres its cooler.

The decorations in this chic restaurant very much emphasize on colours and contemporary design ,which makes its a really nice hanging out place for all kinds of dining or partying . With free wifi and reading materials, makes it a really nice place to relax, grab a drink and enjoy the fine array of dishes available from steaks, to pizzas ,pasta and Asian favourites.

Being lunch and wanna something light...and being a pasta lover, my eyes focussed on the pasta selection. It has a good selection of the ever green classic selection of bolognese, carbonara ,macaroni and lasagna's. Really hope that they could come out with something new and interesting here. Perhaps some fusion tasting pasta's such as pasta with Tomyam sauce or pasta with miso flavoured sauce ????

Top : My usual Spaghetti Bolognese Below : Prawn Linguine with garlic and red chilli

Gloria's prawn linguine with garlic and red chilli (RM17.80) came tossed with dried chilli flakes, olive oil and some garlic. But she found it a bit in the bland side, more salt perhaps ?? My Spaghetti Bolognese however , is good enough to earn a respectable 7/10 on my taste scale. But could be better if the serving was larger !!!!!!!!

Good news for family dining here, that the child gets to eat free with every main course the adult ordered. Inconunction with their opening of Damansara branch they are now offering up to 75% discount off meals ( excluding alcohol, pastries ) for dine in from 12 - 18 September 2007 for HSBC Visa/Master card holders.

Address :
Izzi Uptown 37
No. 45G &47G, Jalan ss21/37,
Damansara Utama
47400 Petaling Jaya
Selangor Darul Ehsan
Directions : Located at the old Fajar building in Damansara Uptown. Its now the same building as where HSBC is located. From LDP, turn in at the BHP petrol station, then immediately turn left again. Go straight along this road . As for lum-mee lovers its the same road as Living Food Lum-Mee. Plenty of car parks available in the open air car park opposite.

Welcome back neighbour !!!

Was having my dinner while attending my niece's kindergarden concert , when I receive a 'lovely' SMS from my ex-neighbour, whom has moved back to Setapak, after his mum and sister decided to move out .

Here's how the message reads :-

Neighbour i'm BACK !! Welcome to nightmares !!!!

Being a friendly neighbour , I replied :-

Haha F u . I welcome u to night mare first. Let my dog welcome u back to Setapak with barkings tonight. Wish u hv a good sleep 2nite. Hv earpiece ready when u sleep. Don say I nvr warn u ! Anyway welcome back. From : Yr 4ever loving neighbour

My lovely Kenji ready to welcome Clement back !!!!!!!!!!

No worries, actually we are good buddy. We grew up together, hang together , limteh and race together. Let me relate some of our nice stories when young........ When I was young,my room was located next to his living room, seperated by a wall as we are immediate neighbours, he would always bang the wall so I cant sleep !! Then I used to have a swing in my garden, he would come over and play . In the mean time, he would bring over a handheld toy , the one where you use water pressure to push some rings into a pole..remember ???? Those were the days before Western Bar hand held games comes into our life yet. He would let me play for the price of a piece of dried meat !!! The game ends when he finished the dried meat !!!! To continue playing , I would give him another piece of dried meat !!!! Haha those were those good days....

Any recollection of your good old days with your neighbour ????
